Dinner.........a waste of time.

Unless Corndogs are on the menu Jack usually takes a little convincing to eat what I've prepared. I don't claim to be the best cook by any means but when I busted out the Potato Bar last night I thought it would be a hit! It wasn't. So it began....Take 5 bites Jack and then you can be done....Way to go! How about another? You are such a good eater. Wow, you're going to be so strong. Usually, I can sidetrack him enough to tack on another few bites without him knowing. Apparently, he is beating me at my own game and wasn't having any of the bonus bites I tried to sneak in. Midway through this process, he looked up at me and said...."Mom, this is just a waste of time."

What is wrong with our boys? Mine whine and complain about the potato bar, too. That's one of my favorites. It's probably good that don't have it often - those calories add up fast.

I have to do the exact same thing almost every night with Kaitlyn (if it were up to her she would be eating pure Ranch), luckily I can still sidetrack her for quite a few extra bites. I'm not looking forward to when she gets smart enough to realize what's really going on.

Oh my goodness I laughed for hours about that because I feel like that every night I try to cook something that's not pizza, mac n' cheese, ramen noodles, or a pizza pocket. When Jeff's home I usually cook three different things before the meal is through just to get them to eat. It's all those pep talks at the pediatricians about power packing their food to get them to eat. Just love that Jack took the words right out of my mouth!!

My boys love the potato bar. It is one of the few dinners that they will eat but, it is Ryan that hates it. I have to promise him that there will be plenty of bacon and cheese for his potato.

That is SO FUNNY and SO my life. I swear, no matter WHAT I make, we have to count bites and it is such a painful nightly ritual. I think I agree, it's a total waste of time :)

that kills me! where in the world do our little bums come up with stuff like that?

Last night I made chicken enchiladas (which Rand usually hates), but for some strange reason he was loving them. He even told me that we should have enchiladas every night. Of course tonight when I warmed up the leftovers he said he didn't like enchiladas and wanted a quesadilla instead. I say let 'em starve!!!

Hope things are good for you, I'm headed down south for the big wedding this weekend (pray for me!!) Good luck with your wedding on Saturday!

Why is feeding kids such a pain? There will be nights that Raegan wont even try a bite! We play the game "Everyone lift up your chicken! EAT EM!!" Everyone lifts up their forks and then we all eat the same thing at the same time. Yum Yum!
